Regional Development Manager – Pacific
The Regional Development Manager’s role is to manage and provide ongoing development of Australian Football in the Pacific, with a focus on junior development. He will act as a central point of contact for stakeholders, members and Australian Football International.
Reports to: AFI Development Manager
Supervises: Part-time Development officers
Duties & Responsibilities
• Identify strategies to maximise junior participation
• Liaise with schools to conduct coaching sessions for their students
• Distribute footballs and other resources to schools
• Identify opportunities to introduce Australian Football into new areas
• Seek and gain official recognition of Australian Football as a sport
• Identify opportunities for obtaining grants and funding
• Secure sponsorship from both government and corporate sources
• Promote Australian Football, the AFL and its clubs to local and regional media
• Coordinate accreditation opportunities for coaches, umpires and administrators
• Provide a pathway for coaches, umpires and players to participate at the highest level
• Recruit, supervise and prioritise workload of a support team
• Arrange for translations of materials into various languages, as required
• Provide up to date information on the Pacific for the AFI website
• Prepare and manage the AFI Pacific budget
• Submit quarterly reports to Australian Football International
