Competing teams will come from the following 6 Regions: Europe, Asia, North America, Latin America, Africa and the Pacific.

Possible Entries: 18-a-side

  • Europe: Croatia, France, Great Britain, Ireland
  • Asia: China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Pakistan, Timor-Leste
  • North America: USA, Canada
  • Africa: South Africa
  • Latin America: Colombia
  • Pacific: Fiji, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea

Possible Entries: Footy 9s (Footy 9s & Touch Footy 9s)

  • Europe: Greece, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Wales
  • Asia: China, India, Nepal, Philippines
  • North America: USA, Canada
  • Africa: Malawi, South Africa, Zimbabwe
  • Latin America: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico

RULES & REGULATIONS

Competing teams agree to be bound by the 2028 Australian Football World Cup Rules & Regulations.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

There are four ways a player can be eligible to represent a country at the 2028 Australian Football World Cup. They are:

1. They were born in the country;

2. They have a parent or grandparent who was born in the country;

3. They have lived in the country for 60 consecutive months to qualify on residency immediately before playing, or

4. They have completed 10 years of cumulative residence in the country before playing.

These player eligibility rules are the same as used by other football codes in their respective World Cups.
