The 2028 Australian Football World Cup will feature the following 3 formats of Australian Football:
- 18-a-side
- Footy 9s
- Touch Footy 9s
18-A-SIDE
- 18-a-side Australian Football, with 18 players on the field
- A maximum of 30 players per squad
- Men’s & Women’s Divisions
- Each match = 4 x 17 minute quarters
FOOTY 9s
- 9-a-side Australian Football, with 9 players on the field
- A maximum of 15 players per squad
- Men’s & Women’s Divisions
- Each match = 4 x 15 minute quarters
TOUCH FOOTY 9s
- 9-a-side Australian Football, with 9 players on the field
- A maximum of 15 players per squad
- All teams are mixed and non-contact (Men & Women)
- Each match = 4 x 15 minute quarters
