Australian Football International (AFI) is pleased to confirm that Team Ireland will be competing at the 2026 AFI World 9s in Melbourne on Saturday 7 February!
The format is 9-a-side Australian Rules Football, played on rugby fields.
The tournament features teams from Melbourne’s multicultural communities. In 2026 the competing teams include Australia, Canada, Colombia, Cook Islands, Cornwall, Fiji, India, Ireland, Malawi, Mexico, Nauru, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, South Sudan, Syria, United Nations and Wales.
