Expanding Footy 9s into Kenya is part of our plan to grow the game in Africa.

Footy 9s is played on rectangular fields, allowing the sport to be played on any soccer or rugby field.

There are 3 great formats to choose from – Men’s Footy, Women’s Footy and Touch Footy.

AUSTRALIA & KENYA
In 2025 Australia and Kenya celebrated 60 years of bilateral relations. Australia maintains a High Commission in Nairobi. Kenya is represented in Australia by a High Commissioner based in Canberra.

The 2016 Census noted there are 17,652 Kenya-born people in Australia. Western Australia had the largest number with 5,421 followed by Victoria (3,860), New South Wales (3,197) and Queensland (2,690).

COUNTRY PROFILE
The Republic of Kenya is a country in East Africa. Lying along the Indian Ocean to its southeast and at the equator, Kenya is bordered by Somalia to the northeast, Ethiopia to the north, Sudan to the northwest, Uganda to the west and Tanzania to the south. Lake Victoria is to the southwest and is shared between Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Kenya has numerous wildlife reserves, containing thousands of animal species. The capital city is Nairobi. The country is named after Mount Kenya, a significant landmark and second among Africa’s highest mountain peaks.

With its scenic beauty and abundant wildlife, Kenya is one of Africa’s major safari destinations.
