Australian Football International (AFI) is excited to announce that the next edition of the Europe 9s will be held in Spain in October 2026!
Entry is open to national teams from all over Europe. Please see the Player Eligibility Rules for more information.

The 2026 Europe 9s follows on from the great success of the inaugural Europe 9s in Barcelona in 2025.
In a historic first for Europe, there will be 3 Divisions – Men’s Footy, Women’s Footy & Touch Footy. The top 2 teams in each Division will progress through to the Grand Final.
We are very pleased to bring this exciting new format of the game to Europe!
2026 Event Format
- 9-a-side (maximum of 15 players per squad)
- Multiple playing fields
- Entry is open to all national teams in Europe
- 3 great Divisions – Men’s Footy, Women’s Footy & Touch Footy!
- Matches will commence every 40 minutes to facilitate a carnival type atmosphere
- Each match consists of 2 x 15 minute halves, plus 3 minutes for half-time
- Each team will play a minimum of 3 matches during the event
- 3 Grand Finals – Men’s Footy, Women’s Footy & Touch Footy
