AFI MEMBERSHIP

Our Members play a key role in driving forward the growth and development of all formats of the game on a global level.

There are 3 levels of membership – Emerging, Associate and Full.

Membership is open to one National Federation per country with that federation having to meet a clear set of criteria in order to be accepted by its peers at the AFI Congress.

Applications for membership should be sent to info@aflinternational.com.

Key Principles
The criteria for Membership of AFI is outlined in the AFI Statutes.

Full and Associate Membership status can only be conferred upon a federation by a vote of the current AFI members at Congress. Emerging Membership status can be conferred by the AFI Leadership, allowing an emerging federation to work closely with AFI to ensure effective development.

The core principles which should underpin the work of a federation are laid out below:

  • A Federation should be legally constituted with a clear set of Statutes which comply with local law and have democracy enshrined.
  • A Federation should operate as a not-for-profit organisation.
  • A Federation should have a company bank account with transparency over its finances.
  • A Federation should be recognised by, or working towards recognition by, either or both their national government and their National Olympic Committee.
  • A Federation should have in place a set of sport development regulations that allow them to manage:

– Competitions
– Umpire Education and Development
-Coach Education and Development
– Athlete Representation
– Talent Development
– Safeguarding and Welfare
